Carol A. Davis

Carol A. Davis, 78, of Pharsalia, NY, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at the Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich, NY.

Carol was born in Cortland, NY, on June 20, 1942, the daughter of the late Gibson and Gertrude Cook Davis.  A lifelong resident of this area, she was a 1960 graduate of Cincinnatus Central School and a 1963 graduate of Crouse Irving Hospital School of Nursing.  She was a former member of the Pharsalia United Methodist church, until its closing.  She retired from Chenango Memorial Hospital in 2002 after 29 years of dedicated service.  Carol grew up on the Davis Family farm where she developed her love for animals, especially horses.  She found complete enjoyment in helping her dad on the farm and enjoyed spending more time in the barn than in the house.  Most important to Carol was her family.  Although she never had children, she loved her nieces and nephews as her own.

She is survived by a sister, Brenda Halstrom of Deleon, FL; a nephew, Nate Davis of Pharsalia; nieces, Carrie Davis of Marathon, Melody Doing of Pharsalia, and Carmella Bullick of Pennsylvania.  She also leaves behind her great nephews, Eli Davis of Pharsalia and Jake Doing of Binghamon; great nieces, Gabrielle McIntosh of Marathon, Jessica Doing of North Norwich, and Shailynn Davis of Pharsalia; a sister-in-law, Kathy Davis of Pharsalia; and her lifelong friends, Lisa Stilwell of Norwich and Jackie Jaquay of Sherburne.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Garry Davis, in 2003, and a sister, Grace Senia, in 2016.

Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. with Jeanne Angell officiating.  NY State Covid-19 guidelines will be followed.  Masks must be worn and social distancing will be in place.  There will be no prior calling hours.  Burial will be in Wayside Rest Cemetery in the spring.
