Carman “Jack” B. Goodrich, 80, of Cuyler, NY, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at his home, while surrounded by his family.
Jack was born in Georgetown, NY, on September 15, 1938, the son of the late Burdette and Leona Wilcox Goodrich. A longtime resident of this area, he had worked for GLF and Agway for 28 years and then worked at SUNY Morrisville for 13 years. He was a member of the Solon Sportsman’s Club and Tractors of Yesteryear. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing and dancing and, later in life, enjoyed entertaining family and friends by playing his guitar and singing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley Brooks Goodrich; and his children, Brian (Martha) Goodrich of Erieville, Theresa (Steven) Billy of Georgetown, and Jenifer (Martin) Beach of Sloansville. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Sara (Brian) Caruso of Georgetown, Joseph Billy of Tully, Levi Billy of Georgetown, Gabriel Beach and Katrina Beach, both of Sloansville; brothers, Carl Goodrich of Georgetown, and Clyde (Suzanne) Goodrich of E. Springfield; a sister, Amy (Stephen) Markowski of Georgetown; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held at the Georgetown Town Hall on Sunday, October 28, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Jack may be directed to Hospice & Palliative Care Services, 11 Kennedy Parkway, Cortland, NY 13045 or Tractors of Yesteryear, c/o Roger Karn, 3019 Clute Road, Cortland, NY 13045.
