Carl L. Rose, 85, of McGraw, NY, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022, at the Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY.
Carl was born in Thompson, PA, on January 30, 1937, the son of the late Henry and Florence Rose. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Cortland. Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a truck driver and equipment operator for the Town of Lincklaen. In his spare time, he enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles.
He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Delores Tracy Rose; and his children, Bryan (Darlene) Rose of Cincinnatus, Brenda Marvin of DeRuyter, Boyd (Melissa) Rose of DeRuyter, and Belinda (Clifford) DeLee of North Carolina. In addition, he is survived by his sisters, Kathryn Raymond of Pitcher and Clara Byron of Cincinnatus; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Blake Rose; a grandson, Harold Marvin III; brothers, Richard Rose and Henry Rose, Jr.; and sisters, Doris Tracey and Pearl Coon Gillette.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Union Valley Cemetery with Pastor Andy Smith officiating. There will be no prior calling hours or funeral service. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Carl may be directed the Union Valley Cemetery Association, c/o Patricia Diaz, 5255 Diaz Road, Cincinnatus, NY 13040.
The family will gather at the Cincinnatus Fire Station immediately following the graveside service on Thursday. All are welcome.
