With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Bryan E. Brown at the age of 58, on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Guthrie Cortland Regional Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Cortland, NY, with his family by his side.

Bryan was born on August 31, 1966, in Cortland, NY. He was a proud graduate of Cincinnatus Central School Class of 1984. Bryan served his country with honor in the United States Navy during the Persian Gulf War, where he was stationed on the U.S.S. Nimitz aircraft carrier. His commitment to service culminated in an honorable discharge in 1994, reflecting his deep sense of duty and pride in serving his nation.

Following his military service, Bryan pursued a career that combined his love for the open water and his adventurous spirit. He worked as a commercial fisherman in Alaska, where he spent countless days enjoying the serenity and beauty of nature.

Bryan was not just defined by his work; he was a devoted family member and friend. He is survived by his father, Dad (Pop) Loomis, of Cincinnatus, and his siblings: Chrystal Loomis of Cincinnatus, Mark (Linda) Brown of Cincinnatus, Debra (Eric) Tillman of Mooresville, NC, Gordon (Kimberly) Brown of Cincinnatus, James Loomis, of Carolina Beach, NC, and Shawn (Teresa) Brown of Apple Valley, CA. Additionally, he leaves behind several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins who cherish the memories they created together.

Bryan was predeceased by his mother, Terena Loomis, and his father, Ernie Brown, as well as his brother-in-law, Kevin Loomis. Their absence is felt deeply by those he leaves behind, as they remember a son, brother, and friend who touched their lives profoundly.

In honor of Bryan's life, a visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at K. L .Sharp Funeral Home, with Pastor George Carruth.
