Betty L. (Brown) Cruikshank, 83, of North Pitcher, NY, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at her home while surrounded by her family. 

Betty was born in Cortland, NY, on September 8, 1941, the daughter of the late Lynn and Velma Loomis Brown. She attended Cincinnatus Central School. Betty loved to listen to music and enjoyed doing crossword and word search puzzles. She also enjoyed going to concerts and dancing. Most important to Betty was her family and she loved to pamper her daughters. 

She is survived by her children, Cindy (Clarence) Brown of Pitcher, Brenda (Louis) Brown of Norwich, Milton (Lisa) Cruikshank II of Plymouth, Marcus (Becky Lapuszynski) Cruikshank of Plymouth, Amy (Steve) Amos of Otselic, and Amanda (Keith) DeLee of N. Pitcher. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Clarence Brown, Jr ., Lynn (Ray) Haitian, Betty Lou Brown, Lori Sue Devine, Michael Brown, Heather (Steve Gross) Cruikshank, Mersades Cruikshank, Kassidie Cruikshank, Carter Cruikshank, Steven Amos, Jr., Chelsea Amos, and Jonah DeLee; a brother Larry (Sally) Brown of Mt. Upton; a sister-in-law Betty Brown of Homer, 21 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Cruikshank in 2008; a granddaughter, BobbieJo Brown in 1995; brothers, Richard, Leonard, Donald, Marlin, Kenneth, and Gordon; and sisters, Shirley Brown and Norma Benjamin. 

 Funeral services will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in North Pitcher Cemetery in the spring. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Immediately following the service you may join the family at the South Otselic American Legion to share in fellowship. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Betty may be directed to the American Legion Auxiliary, NY Unit 973, P.O. Box 53, South Otselic, NY 13155.
