Barbara J. Stanley

Barbara J. Stanley, 70, formerly of McGraw, NY, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2008, at the Cortland Care Center, Cortland, NY.

Born in Cincinnatus on June 11, 1938, Mrs. Stanley was a daughter of the late Clint and Iva Fox. Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the housekeeping department at Manor Care Nursing Home, Kingston, PA and the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, PA, as well as various other places throughout the years. She had many interests, but especially enjoyed her flowers and traveling.

She is survived by her children, Connie (Albert) Wildrick and Ron (Mary) Stanley, all of Marathon; grandchildren, Derek Perry, Michael Rich, Ronnie Stanley, Shane Gleason, Kurt Compton, and Marisha Compton; and great-grandchildren, Dominick Perry, Dustin Perry, and Ella Rich. She also leaves behind her brothers, Gordon (Sharon) Fox, Jay (Dorothy) Fox, Earl (Donna) Fox, Daniel (Wilma) Fox, Joe (Sheila) Fox, Ira (Deborah) Fox, and Gaius (Nancy) Fox; sisters, Beulah (Lloyd) Christopher and Wanda Harvey; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a dear friend, Clarence Kaminski. She was the former wife of Charles Stanley of Marathon.

She was predeceased by brothers, Harold and Morris Fox, and sisters, Dorothy and Sharon Fox.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, with Reverend Keith Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor Rural Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the start of the service at 2:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Stanley may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 441 W.
