Barbara I. Greene

Barbara I. Greene, 85, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, NY.

Born in McDonough, NY on April 26, 1929, Barb was the daughter of the late Stanley and Ilah Carrier Sargent.  A lifelong resident of the area, she was a graduate of both the Cincinnatus Central School and the Central City Business Institute, Cortland.  She retired from Cincinnatus Central School in 1995, after 30 years, where she worked as the high school secretary.  She was a member of the Cincinnatus Fire Department Auxiliary and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, William Greene; her daughter, Susan (Randy) Weatherby of Homer; and her granddaughter and darling angel, Theodora Greene Weatherby.  She also leaves behind a sister, Ruth (Kenneth) Blanchard of Cincinnatus; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the United Presbyterian Church of Cincinnatus on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor George Carruth and Fred M.S. Downs officiating.  Burial will be in Cincinnatus Cemetery.  The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L.
