Arthur “Butch” C. Brown, Jr., 76, of Lincklaen, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY.
Butch was born in DeRuyter, NY, on November 27, 1947, the son of the late Arthur C. Brown, Sr. and Joyce Cooper Brown. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a 1965 graduate from DeRuyter Central School. For several years, he owned and operated the family farm, Pleasant Valley Farms, in Lincklaen, retiring in 2008. Butch was an avid white-tail deer hunter and loved to spend his free time hunting locally and by traveling to Montana to hunt with his friends. He truly enjoyed his hunting camp and was an avid NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Brown; his grandchildren, Montana Brown and Skyler Brown; and his great-grandson, Grayson Brown, all of Lincklaen. He also leaves behind his sisters, Janet Brown and Arlene Weber, both of Cortland.
The family will be present to receive friends at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. the Coalyard in DeRuyter. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, DeRuyter.
