Allen McKee

Allen H. McKee, 88, of Cincinnatus, NY, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, July 23, 2023.

Born in the Town of Taylor, Allen was the son of the late Harold and Pearl Fox McKee.  A lifelong resident, he was the owner of McKee Equipment, Cincinnatus, since its opening in 1966.  In his younger years, he owned and operated a dairy farm for several years which eventually led him to establishing McKee Equipment.  He was also a member of the Cincinnatus Fire Department.  Allen loved to play the stock market like a professional trader.  He also enjoyed gambling but felt that the stock market was more prosperous.  He was well-versed on the latest technology and enjoyed traveling the world or just taking walks with his dog, Maggie.

He is survived by his children, Michael (Judy) McKee, of Cincinnatus, Jonathon (Lori Mudge) McKee, of Cincinnatus, and Valerie (Greg) Hotaling of Taylor.  He also leaves behind his brother, Roger (Reta) McKee of Cincinnatus; sisters, Rachel (Stan) Rood of Homer, Mary Shore of Cincinnatus, and Anita (Bill) Pryor of Elkridge, MD; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service for Allen will be held at the K.L. Sharp Funeral Home, Cincinnatus, NY, on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., with Reverend Peter Bush officiating.  Burial will be in Taylor Rural Cemetery.  The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the service at 1:00 p.m.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Allen may be directed to the Cincinnatus Emergency Squad, c/o Jeff Fox, P.O.
